Roq La Rue Gallery presents 'Refuge', a solo art exhibition by Josie Morway, juxtaposing her vibrant, lushly detailed and vital creatures with static statuary depicting famous celebrated and notorious humans.
A dominating theme throughout the works is the idea of refuge for all living things. This concept becomes more elusive as climate change threatens our fixed concepts of place and history, and especially of what we value, honor, and memorialize, and how these ideas are ripe for change and redefinition.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the exhibition will be available on view at the gallery at Roq La Rue Gallery, 705 E Pike Street (near Boylston), Seattle, WA 98122 Fridays and Saturdays 12pm-4pm PT, and on the Roq La Rue Gallery website.
