Cool Art: 'A Warrior's Dreams' Blue Metallic Variant Prints by Anthony Petrie

'A Warrior’s Dreams' is a four part series of posters by Anthony Petrie, based on the romanticized vision of the samurai. Each poster is his interpretation of specific Jisei (Japanese Death poems) written by actual samurai before they committed the act of seppuku.

Originally released and subsequently sold out back in 2013, Anthony is releasing a blue metallic variant edition of the posters. They are 12” x 36” five-colour screen-prints on white cougar smooth paper with an all metallic ink overlay in a signed and numbered limited edition of 100 and will cost $25 each or $80 for the set of four.

Trailer For Sci Fi / Fantasy Short Film: 'Dust' by Mike Grier

The trailer for this short looks pretty awesome, wish I'd found out about the kickstarter. 'Dust' by Mike Grier was filmed in remote areas of Shikoku, Japan over just 11 days, and was funded on Kickstarter last year.
A deadly new plague linked to a mysterious dust is devastating the countryside around Kabé - the world's oldest city.

Irezúmi is a disgraced Tracker living in the abandoned outskirts of Kabé. Hired by a Merchant of the city's underground medicine trade, he has yet to find a cure to the mysterious Dust that has begun falling on the city.

Little is known about the Dust or the unusual sickness it causes but as it continues to consume the countryside, Kabé is preparing to shut its gates—denying refuge to anyone outside the walls.

With the city verging on lock-down, Irezúmi unwillingly returns to the countryside he abandoned years ago in search of the source.

New Japanese 'Iron Man 3' Poster

A new Japanese variant poster for 'Iron Man 3' has popped up online. Check it out below. I was a bit non plussed about watching this, but after seeing the new trailer, I think I'm actually looking forward to this when it lands on April 25!

New Japanese Poster For 'OZ: The Great And Powerful'

There is something that I love about Japanese movie posters. They are usually a bit different and more often than not nowhere near as bland or cliched as some of their North American / European poster equivilants, and the new Japanese poster for 'OZ: The Great And Powerful' is no exception. I think it's a lot better than the other OZ posters so far and maybe looks like a traditional Disney poster. Check it out.

Another New Poster For 'The Hobbit'

This time it's a Japanese poster. In my opinion you can't go wrong with the Japanese variants of movie posters as they usually offer something a bit different (and better?) artistically than what you get from the usual official movie posters you see. Check it out below.

Japanese Trailer and Poster for Pixar's Brave

Beautiful looking Japanese poster and a new trailer (with English subtitles) have popped up online. The trailer seems to detail the story a bit more than previous trailers too. Either way, it's a film to look forward to this summer!

The film is released on June 22nd 2012 (USA) and on August 17th 2012 (UK)
