Corey Helford Gallery presents a three person art exhibition, featuring new artwork by
Junko Mizuno,
Mayuka Yamamoto and
Travis Lampe.
'Soma' by Junko Mizuno, encapsulates the growth, maturity, and finality of the human existence in a celebration of life, death and the human body. The definition of “soma”: 1: the body of an organism 2: all of an organism except the germ cells 3: cell body.
'Animal Boys' by Mayka Yamamoto, reflects on her childhood and explores ideas of natural instinct and anxieties, related to growing up, preferring to leave her “animal boys” (children dressed like animals) and enigmatic expressions against soft, pale backgrounds, a mystery to her viewers.
'Tales Best Left Untold' by Travis Lampe, is inspired by storybook tales that you heard as a child, 'improving' the old tales with the addition of way more punching and quite a bit more booze.
The exhibition is on view until Saturday March 30 at
Corey Helford Gallery 2, 571 S Anderson Street (Enter on Willow Street), Los Angeles, CA 90033.
