Corey Helford Gallery presents 'Art of Character', a four artist exhibition unveiling a series of stunning new works by world-renowned animator Jim McKenzie, Canadian illustrator Bennett Slater, Argentine/American artist Ramiro Davaro-Comas and Los Angeles-based animator Andrew Brandou.
One of the most popular movements within the New Contemporary scene are artists who explore the human condition through their own iconic characters. Born through a strange prism reflecting the antics of the most popular animated characters or the panels of the comics (notably Kaws’ SpongeBob or Ronnie Cutrone’s Felix The Cat), artists have interpreted or created their own unique characters to capture our imagination.
The opening reception is on Saturday June 29 from 7pm-11pm PT at Corey Helford Gallery, 571 S Anderson Street (Enter on Willow Street), Los Angeles, CA 90033 in Gallery 3, alongside the Hello Kitty 45th Anniversary Group Show in the Main Gallery, and an exhibition from The London Police in Gallery 2.
