Cool Art: 'A Shining Light' by Tom Bagshaw

'A Shining Light' by Tom Bagshaw, is part of the 'Beacon' group exhibition hosted at Gauntlet Gallery.

28 artists will be represented at the show with the definition of Beacon - a fire or light set up to serve as a warning, signal, or celebration • a person or thing that serves as a guide, inspiration, or warning - the theme for the exhibit.

The art show opens on Saturday September 12 from 7.30-10pm at Gauntlet Gallery, 1040 Larkin St. San Francisco 94109, and will be on display until October 3.

Cool Art: 'Daft Punk' by Rhys Cooper

'Daft Punk: Thomas & Guy' by Rhys Cooper, is part of 'DP3', the third installment of the group exhibit inspired by the French electronic music duo hosted at Gauntlet Gallery.

This year’s art exhibit will feature works by over 40 painters, sculptors, digital and screen print artists, each of whom has created an original work of art in tribute to the world’s most renowned DJ's and live performers.

The artwork created for this show draws inspiration from Daft Punk's music videos, extraordinary visuals from their live performances, and their robot personas.

The art show opens on Saturday August 15 from 7.30-10pm at Gauntlet Gallery, 1040 Larkin St. San Francisco 94109, and will be on display until September 5.

Cool Art: 'Even You' by Phil Noto

'Even You' by Phil Noto, is a new print release from the Gauntlet Canvas Collection.

It's a 12" x 12" fine art print on cotton rag in a hand numbered limited edition of 15 and costs $45. It's also available as a stretched canvas print at 14" x 14" in a limited edition of 20 for $185, and 18" x 18" in a limited edition of 15 for $275.

Cool Art: 'Siren I, II & III' by Phil Noto

'Siren I, II & III' by Phil Noto, is part of 'Triumvirate', an art show hosted by Gauntlet Gallery, where each artist produced a set of three works to be viewed as a mini-series, allowing each work to stand alone while at the same time carrying a conceptual connection to each other. The display, determined by the artists, will vividly show the independence and relationship among the set.

The show opens Saturday April 25 from 7.30-10pm and will be on display until May 16.

Cool Art: Pop Culture Prints by Brent Estabrook

Brent Estabrook has new limited edition prints available through Gauntlet Gallery, part of their 'Gauntlet Canvas Collection', a unique collection of art work from established and up and coming artists.

Each print is available as a limited edition giclée on stretched canvas from $185. If a canvas isn't your thing, they are also available as a limited edition giclée on cotton rag paper for $45.

Cool Art: 'Celestial' by Richey Beckett

'Celestial' by Richey Beckett, created for the recent 'In Reference' group art exhibition hosted by Gauntlet Gallery, and is a new limited AP edition print.

It's an 18" x 24" 6 colour silk screen print with metallic gold ink, on Cream Speckletone French Paper, in a hand numbered, embossed and signed limited edition of 50 in both regular and variant and costs £35 each.

It goes on sale Wednesday March 11 at 6pm (UK).

Cool Art: Gauntlet Gallery & Evil Tender presents 'In Reference'

Gauntlet Gallery presents 'In Reference', an art show curated by Evil Tender from Friday February 20.

The show features over twenty artists using a series of photographs commissioned from photographer Holly Burnham and model Hattie Watson, as reference images for screenprints, giclée prints, and a variety of original work.

Artists include - Jay Shaw, Sonny Day & Biddy Maroney (We Buy Your Kids), Kilian Eng, Richey Beckett, Oliver Barrett, Eric Petersen, Ryan Humphrey, Nikita Kaun, Brett Burnham, Alaina Varrone, Randy Ortiz, Ruben Ireland, Anne Benjamin, Jack Durieux, Kyle Carter, Robert Bowen, boneface, JC Richard, Marc Aspinall, Zissou Tasseff-Elenkoff, Jonathan Burton, Helen Bayly, Keith P Rein.

All remaining prints and artworks will be released slowly over the following week starting Monday February 23 at the Evil Tender Web Store.

Cool Art: 'Nouel' Series by Craig Drake

'Nouel' is a series of prints by Craig Drake, as 16" x 24" giclée prints in limited editions of 30 for $60 and 24" x 36" giclée prints in limited editions of 20 for $85. They are also available as variant prints and as giclées on stretched canvas in various sizes.

Cool Art: Gauntlet Gallery presents 'ReDiscovery' An Art Show Inspired By Daft Punk

Gauntlet Gallery presents 'ReDiscovery', an art show inspired by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk. To celebrate the release of Daft Punk’s first album in eight years, Gauntlet Gallery will feature works by over 40 painters, sculptors, digital and screen print artists, each of whom has created an original work of art inspired by Daft Punk.

With their modern disco sound and blend of house, funk, electronic and techno music, Daft Punk puts on one of the world’s most popular DJ performances. Their musical talent is matched only by the extraordinary visuals of their live performances. Daft Punk’s highly anticipated 'Random Access Memories' is their fourth studio album and the first since the 2005 release of 'Human After All'.

Gauntlet Gallery’s 'ReDiscovery' debuted on May 18th with an opening night reception from 7pm to 10pm. The show will be on view until June 15th, 2013.

Located at 1040 Larkin Street in San Francisco, Gauntlet Gallery’s hours are 12-7pm Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment.
