'ABCDEFGeek': "A" Is For "Ackbar" by Otis Frampton

"ABCDEFGEEK is an original series created by one of our artists and friend, Otis Frampton. This is his first animation for HISHE and we we're honored he's brought the show to our channel. Please help us support Otis and the show. Feel free to offer suggestions for future "geek" letters! Thanks for watching!"
During the filming of his famous catch phrase, Ackbar attempts to "improve" his lines.

Cool Art: 'ABCDEFGeek' by Otis Frampton

'ABCDEFGeek' by Otis Frampton.

Otis Frampton has created a geek-infused alphabet, with each letter represented by characters or situations from the world of geek pop culture. They are now available as gallery quality giclée prints on natural white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson K3 archival inks either as a poster with the complete alphabet or each letter individually.

Check them all out below. And Otis has now started on series 2, so check out his blog every Wednesday for new letters.

Happy Birthday 'Firefly'

Created by Joss Whedon, 'Firefly' was first broadcast on the Fox network in the US on this day, September 20 in 2002 with the episode 'The Train Job'.

The episodes were not aired in their intended order and Fox cancelled the series after only 11 episodes, out of the 14 produced. Despite being short-lived, the series did very well when released on DVD, Bluray, and in syndication, and gained a huge fan base, 'The Browncoats' - and myself included.

The stories of the Firefly 'verse have since been expanded into a feature length movie, 'Serenity' and into a series of comics and even an online role playing game.

Happy birthday Firefly!

Cool Art: 'Ambush At Mos Gamos' by Otis Frampton

This was a commission, the brief was "give me an image that could come from Star Wars Episode VII with the characters on Tatooine".

And artist Otis Frampton came up with Jedi Knight Leia, Han Solo, a wookiee and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker getting ambushed by thugs in Mos Gamos.
