#CoolArt: Gallery1988 presents 'Colorful Constructs' Art Show

Gallery1988 presents 'Colorful Constructs', an art exhibition inspired by LEGO featuring 18 new artworks by Nicole Gustafsson, plus contributions by Audrey Pongracz, Becky Dreistadt, Kristin Tercek (aka Cuddly Rigor Mortis), Leslie Levings and Meghan Stratman.

The exhibition is on display at Gallery 1988 (East) 7021 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038 until April 1.

Cool Art: Hero Complex Gallery & Dan Shearn present 'LEGO Memories'

Hero Complex Gallery presents the Pop Up Show and Dan Shearn's first Solo Show, 'LEGO Memories (Or a Man-Child's Recollection of the 80's Through Lego)' opening on Friday, June 20.

This personal project first sprung from Dan's own love of playing with Legos as a child, and as a child of the 80's he decided he'd create his own mini figures in art based on his favorite 80's icons. Dan has created over 60 new pieces for this show, so be sure to come and see his creations in person. And the best part is that most of the pieces in the show are only $20 so they make for great gifts for the LEGO mini fig fan in all of us!

Opening Reception is Friday, June 20 at 7-10pm and the exhibition runs until June 29 at Hero Complex Gallery, 2020 South Robertson Blvd., Studio D, LA, CA 90034

Any remaining prints will go on sale Saturday June 21 around 1pm PST on the HGC website.

Short Film: 'LEGO The Battle of Helm's Deep'

The Brotherhood Workshop are back with another Lego Lord Of The Rings video.

The battle for Middle Earth has begun! All of Isengard is unleashed against the fortress of Helm's Deep. In the midst of the chaos and carnage, one solitary elf seeks to aid his vertically challenged friend...no matter what the cost.

Also, keep a look out for Chewbacca. He has a habit of showing up...on BOTH sides of the conflict.

Pippin and Merry need to learn a bit of discretion when it comes to their pranks. They forget that people like Aragorn take things a bit too seriously. Also, there are REAL spooks out in the forest too.
