Spoke Art presents the 'Lord Of The Thrones', a group art exhibition in tribute to the fantasy epics 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Game of Thrones'.

Inspired by the literary works of JRR Tolkien and George RR Martin, over 75 artists were invited to participate, in an array of original paintings and limited edition prints featuring character portraits, elaborate environments and iconic themes and motifs from both series.

The exhibition will be on display until June 25 at Spoke Art, 816 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94109.

'Venezia' by Mia Araujo, part of the third annual 'Wanderlust' art exhibition that opens this weekend at Modern Eden Gallery.

'Wanderlust' is a group show inspired by travel, far-away places, adventurous experiences and fascinating destinations featuring almost 200 works by an international roster of contemporary artists, who were given identical postcards and asked to create a unique piece for the show inspired by the theme 'wanderlust'.

The opening reception is on Saturday December 12 from 6-9pm, at Modern Eden Gallery, 801 Greenwich Street, San Francisco, CA 94133, and is on display until January 2 2016.

"For this painting I wanted the main figure to be a combination of the Aztec death goddess: Mictecacihuatl, the Virgin Mary, and the iconic image of a bride that marries death, to form this image of Santa Muerte. My favorite setting for day of the dead celebrations is a graveyard at night that is covered with flowers and candles." - Mia Araujo

"I wanted to create a piece that would depict the forest as a place to heal from all the exhaustion, stress, and invisible wounds that each of us carry in our daily lives. I was inspired by Alphonse Mucha’s use of fabric and the intent gazes of his women, and by the healing power of the deer-god in Princess Mononoke. I had been listening to an audiobook version of Timothy Egan’s book about the worst wildfire in US history, ‘The Big Burn.’ So I imagined that all of the animals, forest spirits, and mythical characters that lived there would need a place of sanctuary after the horrors of a wildfire.." - Mia Araujo

This is a 15″ x 22″ signed and numbered giclee printed on Archival Pigment Print on 300gsm Fine Art Paper. The standard edition is in a limited edition of 25, and costs $50 and a hand embellished version, also limited 25 copies, costs $100. You can also add $125 if you'd like it framed.

From March 8-12 at their gallery in Austin, Texas, Mondo and HBO present the 'Game Of Thrones' Gallery Show. The show features original artwork from regular Mondo contributors like Daniel Danger, Craig Drake and Jason Edmiston as well as artists new to Mondo like Mia Araujo, Sanjulian and Audrey Kawasaki.
