#CoolArt: '2001: A Space Odyssey' by Joe Wilson

The book is 240 pages, bound in printed art paper and blocked in holographic foil, with a frontispiece and 6 colour plates by Joe Wilson. It measures 9½" x 6¼" complete with metallic slipcase and costs £29.95.

This edition includes the foreword written jointly by Clarke and Kubrick, as well as Clarke’s ‘Back to 2001’ preface written in 1989. Michael Moorcock, a long-standing colleague of Clarke’s and an award-winning author, has provided a new introduction revealing much of his friend’s personality, as well as casting a new light on the fractious relationship between Clarke and Kubrick.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'Dune', The Folio Society have announced a special collector's edition of Frank Herbert’s classic science-fiction novel, illustrated by Sam Weber.

A limited edition A3 sized poster of Sam's cover art will also accompany each book purchased from the initial print run.

The book measures 10" x 6¾" and is bound in metallic buckram, printed and blocked with a design by Sam Weber and comes with a Metallic printed slipcase. Within the 576 pages, illustrations include a frontispiece and 11 colour illustrations including 3 double-page spreads plus a number of black & white chapter head illustrations, plus printed map endpapers by Martin Sanders.

The 'Dune' Folio Society Collector's edition costs £75 / $125 US / $150 Can & Aus.
