Cool Animated Trailer For The Doctor Who 'Who On Horror' Season On The UK's Horror Channel

The 'Who On Horror' season on the UK's Horror Channel (Sky 319, Virgin 149, Freestat 138) starts on Friday April 18 with the pilot episode 'An Unearthly Child' starring the first Doctor, William Hartnell, at 7pm.

The Doctor Who season continues into a special 'Who On Horror' weekend - a classic marathon featuring one story from each of the Doctors across the Easter weekend. There will then be weekday double-bills in daytime and evening slots with stories shown in chronological order starting on Easter Monday 21st April.

The Horror Channel will broadcast 30 stories from the Classic series which ran from 1963 to 1989, featuring the first seven Doctors, starting with William Hartnell and concluding with Sylvester McCoy.

Gallery1988 Celebrates 10 Years with 'The Subtle Art Of Pop Culture'!

This Friday night from 7-10pm, Gallery1988, one of the foremost (and the world's first) pop culture art galleries, will be celebrating 10 years of being in business on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, with a huge group art show called 'The Subtle Art of Pop-Culture' and they've invited back some of their favorite artists to have ever graced their walls from the past ten years to help celebrate.

The opening reception is Friday April 11 from 7-10pm is only via RSVP at rsvpgallery1988@gmail.com and the show runs until May 3 at Gallery1988 (West), 7308 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046.

From Stalls To Walls - Help Fund Leamington Spa's First Comic Store

Fresh from news that my local town, Leamington Spa, will be hosting it's first ever comic con on Saturday October 18 at The Royal Leamington Spa Pump Rooms after a successfully funded Indiegogo campaign, the guys at Comics Etc, a locally based pop-up comic book store which has been appearing locally at film festivals, music festivals and events in the local area, are hoping to find a more permanent home and open a bricks and mortar comic book store. They want their store to offer a unique experience where customers can interact and meet like minded individuals while at the same time promoting local small press and hosting local community events such as film nights and game nights.

And over the last year that they've been popping up, the most repeated question they've had is "Have you got a store?" Well that is where you and their Indiegogo campaign can help make this happen.

They hope to raise a minimum of £5000 which will go a long way towards opening a small retail unit, with the sourcing of basic fixtures and fittings and also help add additional stock such as small press, manga and classic back issues.

And as with any crowd funding campaign, there are the perks to tempt you. These range from getting your name read out in their inaugural podcast thanking you for your contribution, to gift bundles, special T shirts, tote bags, engraved comic art and locally commissioned art.
