Book Review: 'Star Wars: Lost Stars' by Claudia Gray

A really good read, and one of the best in the 'Journey To The Force Awakens' series.

A story of two childhood best friends, Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell, and their love for each other, despite, after a cataclysmic event that sends each of their paths in different directions and makes them both question what it means to be loyal.

A YA romance story set against the backdrop of the Star Wars Universe, but don't let that put you off! If you're a fan of the original trilogy, like myself, then you may enjoy the different perspective of the key battles from the movies - seen through the eyes of newly graduated Imperial cadets and new volunteers for the Rebel Alliance.

Wanted to finish the book before going to see 'The Force Awakens', as right at the end of the book (and on the cover, so not really much of a spoiler) we learn how the Star Destroyer that was seen in the initial trailers for TFA and in the 'Battle Of Jakku' DLC from 'Star Wars: Battlefront', ends up where it is, just in case it's alluded to in the film, seeing as the new Star Wars Universe is supposed to be all interlinked these days.

Either way, it's a brilliant read and definitely worth picking up, whether or not you're a Star Wars fan, but more so if you are.
