Movie Review: 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom'

I really enjoyed 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom'. Thrilling and exciting right from the opening scene but with the action, for the most part, going full pelt, it did kind of fizzle out by the time we got to the end for me.

There are only so many times you can do the theme park attractions running amok, which they did last time, so at least they tried doing something a bit different this time around. Taking and referencing the previous film and building upon the themes, as well as adding a potential maguffin for the next. After all, the 'Jurassic World' films are supposed to a trilogy, so of course that was to be expected in some way. And with the way it finishes, it does of course seem to set up for a conclusion in the next film, which I shall be looking forward to.

On this first viewing though, I thought that it was better than the last. Just more consistently suspenseful and exciting. I also saw shades of the original Jurassic Park and of other films too. Plus I liked the heroes and the way they got out of the situations they ended up in. The villains on the other hand were a bit one dimensional but it didn't spoil things much for me.

Overall it's an exciting thrill ride of a movie, especially if you're a fan of the series and the original.

As it was the opening weekend too, came away with a free print from Cineworld which was cool. More free prints etc for opening weekends please!
